When we first examined The Registry LLC in April 2025, the story centered on an Omaha company contacting private sellers and charging upfront fees to market vehicles, RVs and equipment online. But The Registry was not operating in isolation.
Our original investigation identified a history of related names and operations, including VSBO, National Vehicles and Vehicle Selling Solutions. Since then, The Registry has expanded further into heavy equipment through National Equipment Registry. Now another name has emerged in the same orbit: Nationwide Auctions, an online vehicle and heavy equipment marketplace operated by Inner Circle Marketing Group, LLC.
The connection becomes particularly noteworthy when the addresses are compared. The Registry operates from 1941 S. 42nd Street, Suite 222, in Omaha. Vehicle Selling Solutions, also known as VSS and associated with fsbovehicles.com, operates from Suite 104. Inner Circle Marketing Group, which operates Nationwide Auctions, has been publicly listed at Suite 427.
Three businesses, three suites, the same Omaha building.
Their businesses also overlap considerably. The Registry and Vehicle Selling Solutions market vehicles and other assets for private sellers. Nationwide Auctions markets vehicles and heavy equipment through an auction and classified-style platform, while Inner Circle Marketing Group offers equipment marketing, syndication, financing, transportation, inspections and valuation services. The Registry has also launched National Equipment Registry, an equipment-focused expansion operating from the same Suite 222 address and using the same telephone number.
A shared multi-tenant building alone does not establish common ownership or control. But combined with overlapping markets, similar customers and comparable fee-based marketing services, the address raises questions about how closely these operations are connected.
The Registry Expands Into Heavy Equipment
BBB records show The Registry LLC as an accredited business with its file opened in August 2023 and operations listed as beginning in March 2022. David Shaffer appears as the principal contact, while Samantha Shaffer has been referenced in some customer interactions as an owner. The company’s website promotes broad advertising reach while making clear that sales outcomes cannot be guaranteed because of market conditions.
The company has since expanded directly into agricultural, industrial and heavy equipment through National Equipment Registry. The new brand uses the same address and telephone number as The Registry LLC: 1941 S. 42nd St., Suite 222, and (833) 265-6113.
The Registry announced the expansion on its own website, describing National Equipment Registry as the “new home” for these services. The move is significant because it places The Registry more directly in the same heavy equipment market occupied by Nationwide Auctions and Inner Circle Marketing Group.
Vehicle Selling Solutions
Another branch leads to Vehicle Selling Solutions, also known as VSS and associated with fsbovehicles.com. The company operates from Suite 104 of the same 1941 S. 42nd Street building and offers internet advertising and listing services to private vehicle sellers.
Vehicle Selling Solutions holds BBB accreditation but has accumulated 13 complaints during the most recent three-year period. Recurring complaints describe claims about prospective buyers or rapid sales that did not result in completed transactions, upfront fees ranging from approximately $400 to $1,200, limited communication after payment and listings that expired without producing a sale. Some complainants also described requests for additional payments to relist or enhance their advertising.
Company responses generally emphasize that Vehicle Selling Solutions provides advertising services and does not guarantee a sale. That distinction is important: a sales conversation may focus on exposure, prospective buyers or the possibility of moving an asset quickly, while the contractual obligation is ultimately to provide advertising and listing services.
A July 2025 Reddit discussion in r/Scams described a similar experience involving fsbovehicles.com. The poster said a representative named Mike contacted them after seeing a TruckPaper advertisement, claimed to have two buyers ready and requested approximately $1,200 to advertise the vehicle through Vehicle Selling Solutions, including an eBay listing.
A self-described former employee also joined the discussion and alleged internal disputes involving commissions and relisting practices. The individual said company email access was removed after concerns were raised and claimed to have retained messages and logs while planning to pursue a wage claim. Those allegations have not been independently verified.
Nationwide Auctions and Inner Circle Marketing Group
The newest branch leads to Nationwide Auctions, operating at nationwideauctions.net. The site presents itself as an online marketplace for vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractors, trucks, trailers, motorhomes, sprayers and balers, with listings featuring “Bid Now” functionality.
Nationwide Auctions is operated by Inner Circle Marketing Group, LLC, which has been publicly listed at 1941 S. 42nd Street, Suite 427. A separate BBB profile lists another Omaha address for the company.
Despite the auction branding and presentation, the Nationwide Auctions terms describe a service centered substantially on advertising and classified listings. Inner Circle Marketing Group distributes seller listings through Nationwide Auctions and a network of affiliate or partner websites, with sellers paying a setup charge based on the package purchased.
Refunds are available only within 24 hours of payment and are subject to an administrative fee. After that period, the setup charge becomes non-refundable, and the terms make clear that no guarantee is provided regarding whether or when an asset will sell.
Inner Circle Marketing Group also offers financing, heavy-haul transportation, inspections and valuation services and describes its broader business as specializing in asset liquidation and acquisition for the heavy equipment industry.
Different Names, Similar Models
Examined together, several characteristics repeatedly appear across these operations: private sellers with vehicles or equipment to move, internet advertising or listing services, distribution across multiple websites or networks, upfront charges and contractual language making clear that a successful sale is not guaranteed.
The names and individual services vary. The Registry operates from Suite 222 and has expanded into equipment through National Equipment Registry. Vehicle Selling Solutions operates from Suite 104 and focuses on private-party vehicle marketing. Nationwide Auctions, operated by Inner Circle Marketing Group, extends the model into an auction and classified-style marketplace from an organization publicly listed at Suite 427.
The overlap is particularly notable because this is not the first time new names have appeared around these operations. Our original investigation identified references involving VSBO, National Vehicles, Vehicle Selling Solutions and The Registry. National Equipment Registry and Nationwide Auctions now add additional brands serving substantially the same vehicle and equipment-selling market.
None of this proves that every company or brand represents the same legal entity. Nor does sharing a multi-tenant building establish common ownership. But the combination of shared addresses, overlapping industries, similar customers and comparable fee structures raises legitimate questions about the relationships between them.
The Hydra Grows
The structure increasingly resembles a hydra: one head markets vehicles to private sellers, another focuses on equipment, another presents itself as an auction marketplace, and another provides marketing syndication and related transaction services.
A seller advertising a truck might encounter Vehicle Selling Solutions. An equipment owner could encounter National Equipment Registry. Someone looking for an auction platform might find Nationwide Auctions. Viewed separately, they can appear to be unrelated businesses offering different services. Follow the addresses, markets and business models, however, and the paths repeatedly converge at 1941 S. 42nd Street in Omaha.
That is what makes the continuing expansion significant. The story is no longer simply about complaints involving The Registry or Vehicle Selling Solutions. It is about a growing collection of brands operating in overlapping markets, from overlapping locations, with similar approaches to monetizing private sellers attempting to move vehicles and equipment.
What Sellers Should Know
Anyone considering one of these services, or any similar vehicle or equipment marketing company, should carefully distinguish between paying someone to sell an asset and paying someone to advertise it. Before paying an upfront fee, sellers should read the complete terms, determine exactly where the asset will be advertised, ask whether any claimed prospective buyers have actually expressed interest in their specific item and understand precisely what circumstances qualify for a refund.
Sellers should also search beyond the company’s current brand name. Searching its telephone number, physical address and website domain can reveal connections that may not otherwise be obvious. BBB complaints should be read individually rather than relying solely on an overall rating, and recent reviews and forum discussions can provide additional context.
Most importantly, sellers should determine what additional value an intermediary provides before paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for marketing services that may ultimately consist primarily of placing or syndicating advertisements, many of which would be free if the seller listed independently.
Our April 2025 investigation began with The Registry. Since then, the network of names has continued to grow, including Vehicle Selling Solutions, National Equipment Registry, Nationwide Auctions and Inner Circle Marketing Group.
Different names and different suites, but the same Omaha building and a remarkably familiar business model.
